Grand Opening

On Oct. 6th, Rösler Metal Finishing USA, LLC celebrated the expansion of their Battle Creek facility consolidating their US knowledge centers and increasing their capacity to serve customers throughout North America. More than 300 people, including City of Battle Creek officials, members of Battle Creek Unlimited, the company’s representative network and employees, were on hand for the ribbon cutting.

In addition to tours and entertainment, the official ceremonies included congratulatory messages from Governor Rick Snyder, Representative Jase Bolger, Speaker of the Michigan House of Representatives and State Senator Mike Nofs, as well as remarks by Rösler Group owner Stephan Rösler, “Rösler US is a very important part of our global presence and the expansion in Battle Creek demonstrates the deep level of commitment we have to the North American market. I am very happy to celebrate the opening of the new Battle Creek campus with our employees and business partners from the region and around the world.”

The new 28,000 sqm campus includes Rösler’s 1,400 sqm process and test lab, production facilities for both ceramic and plastic media, state-of-the-art finishing equipment, assembly and administrative offices. Remarking on the event, Harold Wagenknecht, President of Rösler Metal Finishing USA, LLC, said, “The advantages of a centralized facility with streamlined functions in production, sales, inside sales, marketing and purchasing, as well as our aggressive commitment to our customers, propelled our decision to invest and expand at this critical time.”

The family-owned company with 1300 employees worldwide opened their US headquarters in 1999 and has continued to expand, manufacturing in the United States and serving customers in virtually every industry, including automotive, aerospace, medical, machining, steel fabrication and green energy. Backed by a global network of locations providing worldwide support and over 60 years of experience, Rösler is the only finishing company offering both mass finishing and shot blasting equipment, as well as the consumables and media for the total process solutions from a single supplier. Dedicated to “finding a better way,” Rösler’s highly trained employees first evaluate what the end result should be and choose from the most extensive product range in the industry to select the right process for each customer’s specific needs.

Battle Creek Expansion Project

After an extensive review of our current facilities, Rosler Metal Finishing USA, LLC has made the tough but necessary decision to relocate our Adrian and Marshall operations to Battle Creek, the home of our North American headquarters.

As a result of this decision, we have begun construction of an 110,000 square foot addition to our existing Battle Creek facility that will house state-of-the-art capital equipment production and assembly space.  Rosler estimates the relocation will be complete by June 2010.

Commenting on the decision, Harold Wagenknecht, President of Rosler Metal Finishing USA, LLC said:  “After carefully considering all the pro's and con's, the advantages of a centralized facility with synergies in Production, Sales, Inside Sales, Marketing, and Purchasing, as well as higher tax incentives offered by the City of Battle Creek, provided overwhelming support for our decision.”

Stephan Rösler, Chief Executive Officer of the Rosler Group concurred:  “The consolidation of our US facilities at the existing Battle Creek site is yet another step forward in our efforts to continue our aggressive growth in the North American blasting business.”

All employees at the affected plants have been offered the option to transfer their positions to the expanded Battle Creek facility.
